As a homeschooling mama, I have been a huge fan of Apologia products for years.  From their expansive, quality curriculum selections to the inspirational books that help to enrich your heart and mind, the products our family has enjoyed from Apologia has been unmatched by any other curriculum website we have encountered.

So I was obviously thrilled when I learned the TOS Crew would be partnering with Apologia for another great review.  And they truly hit this one out of the park!!  I was hooked on this book from the moment I read the sample chapter prior to even receiving the paper copy.

Journeys of Faithfulness, written by Sarah Clarkson, is an amazing collection of the personal journeys of some amazing women of the Bible including Mary and Martha, Esther, and Ruth.  This book combines historical facts and details with a truly God-inspired insightful personalization that allows the reader to feel as if she is seeing the accounts first hand.

When we were offered this book for review, we were given a sample chapter to read (which you can find here) and although this book was geared for young ladies a bit older than mine, I decided to read the chapter to see if this might be a book we could use in the future.  A few minutes later I was amazed to find myself in tears, completely enraptured by the sweet account of two women I felt I knew so well and yet I saw in a new and amazing light.

The story we received was an account of Mary and Martha, a common story to many, but it is written in such a beautifully descriptive and emotional way.  The description of Jesus so sweetly and patiently waiting for Martha to see her value as He saw her was moving to me in a way that I did not expect and caused me to reread a story I knew so well and yet felt as if I was experiencing again for the first time.

I knew this was a review I wanted to be a part of, if not for my daughter at this point than for myself.  I know this will be valuable to her in a few years, but it has been life-changing for me right now.  I did not grow up in church and therefore missed learning about the "typical" Bible stories at a young age.  I often feel that I am trying to catch up with my contemporaries and struggle with feeling as if I fall short in Biblical knowledge.

Journeys of Faithfulness brought stories I have studied for years to life for me in some cases for the first time.  I feel as if I know the struggles and triumphs of the women we so often glean feminine truths from in a more personal and a deeper way.  And the devotionals and Bible Studies that accompany the stories let me delve into even more detail with each story.

I love this book!!  I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a personal and emotional account of these strong Biblical women.  I think this would be valuable for any mom and daughter team (recommended for girls 12 and up) wanting to share time together and learn more about these amazing women.

This book is divided into four sections and each section is divided into three chapters.  Each section is devoted to a different biblical woman and her journey and the multiple chapters allow for deep insight into the life and emotions of each woman.

**Please note- While these stories hold much historical truth, these are fictionalized stories that delve into the emotional life of women from long ago.  These stories are not completely scripturally accurate.  I would recommend when using this with young ladies you combine these stories with reading the true Biblical accounts for a whole and complete picture of the woman being studied.

The paperback copy is 232 pages and retails for $13.00 on the Apologia website.
