Moon Dough Review!!

If your children are anything like my children then fun can not be achieved without a HUGE mess!!  The messier a project- the more fun they have.  Parenting my children is a constant exercise in grace for me, once dubbed the "Clean Mommy".  Needless to say, I have not ever really been a fan of bringing products into my home that expand the already crazy mess factor that is our lives currently.  My children, however, have gravitated toward every "messy" product on the market and I have usually conceded.  Except for Moon Dough- somehow the concept just seemed a bit over the top for me and I did not know how anyone would want to bring such a product home for the kiddos to enjoy.

Imagine my surprise when I recently received a large box in the mail, courtesy of Team Mom, containing the Moon Dough Barnyard!!  As soon as I pulled it out, I knew I was in trouble.  The looks on my children's faces of pure joy told me that I was not getting out of this one.  So I bit the bullet and opened the box.  The Moon Dough Barnyard set came with a magical molding barnyard, fence, and hay bale molds, a themed play mat, four unique animal moulds- cow, pig, sheep, and horse, and, of course, three colors of Moon Dough.

I could see Moon Dough beginning to take over my house... I had visions of finding Moon Dough in the washing machine, in the carpet, in the cat's hair... I was really nervous!!  I decided to just go with it and quickly put the Barnyard together- before I changed my mind.  After the assembly, I opened the first bag of Moon Dough and took a bit out.  It felt like nothing I had ever encountered.  It was very soft, but not at all "wet" like typical dough or clay that you might imagine.

I loaded the first animal mold, pulled the handle, and closed my eyes..... to my surprise, when I opened them back up, the cutest little yellow chicken sat on my table.  Both of my children squealed and begged for more.  I quickly made both a cow and a horse before being ousted from the playtime.  My children took over and played for hours.  They had so much fun creating and recreating animals- it was the longest stretch of time I can remember that they played together quietly.... well, maybe not quietly, but at least without fighting!!

And... to my delight.... when it was all over clean up was a breeze!!  I made a little ball of Moon Dough for each of them and they went crazy picking up all the little pieces that littered my table and floors.  Even the little piece that somehow worked it's way into the living room carpet came up easily when I vacuumed.  So... I am SOLD!!  Moon Dough is a new favorite in our home, for both mommy and kiddos!!  I am sure we will soon own the many other Moon Dough sets available:  Moon Dough Pizza Shop, Magical Molding Doghouse, and the Moon Dough Burger Shop!!
